MedIQ, the Islamabad-born health tech startup founded by Dr. Saira Siddique, has successfully raised $6 million in Series A funding. The round was led by Qatar’s Rasmal Ventures and Saudi Arabia’s Joa Capital, with follow-on support from existing investors. This brings the total funding raised by MedIQ to $9.8 million, making it one of the largest rounds in Saudi Arabia’s health tech history.
MedIQ’s Vision – One Healthcare System for MENAP
Founded in 2020, MedIQ was born from a deeply personal journey. After experiencing a year-long paralysis and hospitalization, Dr. Siddique saw firsthand the challenges posed by a fragmented healthcare system. That crisis sparked a mission to create a digitally connected, patient-first healthcare ecosystem across the MENA–P region.
Fast forward to today, MedIQ is already:
- ✅ A market leader in Saudi Arabia
- ✅ Employing 180 people across Islamabad and Riyadh
- ✅ Actively working in a $2 billion (SAR 7.2 billion) Saudi health tech sector
- ✅ Eyeing expansion to Qatar and other GCC countries
What the Funding Will Fuel
The newly raised capital will help MedIQ accelerate its growth and innovation roadmap. Key focus areas include:
- ✅ AI-driven digitization of hospitals and insurance operations
- ✅ Creating seamless, patient-centric experiences
- ✅ Reducing healthcare costs while improving outcomes
- ✅ Scaling to other MENAP markets
MedIQ’s goal? To become the “operating system for healthcare” in the region — unifying providers, patients, and payers through smart infrastructure.

Why MedIQ Matters

As Dr. Siddique puts it:
“What if healthcare worked like any modern service — connected, convenient, and patient-first? That’s what we’re building with MedIQ.”
With this funding milestone, MedIQ is not just expanding — it’s reshaping the future of healthcare in MENAP and beyond.
