Oqood, a UAE-based legal technology startup, has raised $1 million in seed funding from a group of angel investors to accelerate the development of its AI-powered legal solutions and expand its footprint across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

Founded by Khaled Al Rasheed, Oqood is on a mission to transform the legal industry. It will do this with automation, artificial intelligence, and smart digital platforms. All of them aim to simplify complex workflows for law firms and corporate legal departments.

Oqood focuses on integrating AI-driven tools into the legal ecosystem. It will help to reduce manual processes, enhance document accuracy, and streamline communication between lawyers and clients. Its technology aims to address some of the most time-consuming challenges faced by legal professionals, including:

  • Contract review and analysis
  • Legal document drafting and management
  • Case tracking and data organization
  • Client communication and reporting

The startup’s solutions help firms improve operational efficiency, reduce turnaround time, and deliver more consistent, data-driven outcomes for clients.

According to founder and CEO Khaled Al Rasheed, the funding round reflects growing investor confidence in the global legal technology market, which was valued at over $31 billion in 2024 and is projected to grow at an annual rate of 9.4 percent.

Scaling Across the GCC

With the newly secured funding, Oqood plans to:

  • Enhance its AI product development to introduce more advanced features for predictive analysis and workflow automation.
  • Expand its services to more law firms and corporate legal teams across the GCC.
  • Strengthen its digital platform to support secure, seamless collaboration between clients and legal advisors.
  • Build strategic partnerships with legal associations and technology providers in the UAE and beyond.

This regional expansion reflects a growing appetite for legal innovation as more firms adopt digital tools to improve efficiency, compliance, and competitiveness.

Accelerating Digital Transformation in Law

Oqood’s progress comes at a time when AI adoption in the legal sector is gaining steady momentum across MENA. While digital transformation has been gradual, the region’s legal industry is beginning to embrace automation to reduce costs and boost performance.

The company’s focus on combining legal expertise with artificial intelligence aligns with the UAE’s broader digital transformation goals. It also supports the growing ecosystem of legal and enterprise technology startups in the region.

As Oqood continues to evolve, it aims to play a key role in shaping how legal services are delivered in the GCC—making them faster, smarter, and more accessible for businesses of all sizes.
