Cairo-based startup Suplyd has raised $2 million in pre-Series A funding to build the digital backbone of Egypt’s restaurant supply chain. The round was co-led by 4DX Ventures, Camel Ventures, and Plus VC, with participation from Seedstars and existing backers.
This latest round pushes Suplyd further toward its mission: modernizing the $10 billion HORECA (Hotels, Restaurants, Cafes) supply chain in Egypt.
Solving a Critical Problem
Founded in 2022, Suplyd was created to tackle a major gap in the food service industry, unreliable supply chains. Restaurants often deal with:
- ✅ Late or missed deliveries
- ✅ Unclear inventory tracking
- ✅ Zero visibility on procurement workflows
Suplyd’s platform directly connects restaurants with vetted suppliers, streamlining procurement and adding much-needed transparency to day-to-day operations.
“We didn’t just witness the digital shift in this industry, we helped drive it,” said Gohar Said, Founder and CEO of Suplyd.
“What began as a bold idea is now an essential tool used by 5,000+ restaurants across Egypt.”
A Full-Stack Approach to Restaurant Logistics
Suplyd goes beyond ordering. The platform acts as an all-in-one backend system that powers procurement and operations.
- ✅ Order ingredients, kitchenware, and supplies from a single dashboard
- ✅ Get real-time delivery tracking and status updates
- ✅ Access inventory management and analytics tools
- ✅ Reduce food waste and cut operational costs
Since its $1.6 million pre-seed round, Suplyd has grown nearly 20x, solidifying its role as a key infrastructure layer in Egypt’s F&B sector.
Fueling the Next Phase
With the new capital, Suplyd plans to:
- ✅ Expand across Egypt into new cities and regions
- ✅ Launch new service verticals tailored to restaurant operations
- ✅ Enhance backend tools to help restaurants automate and scale
The company’s long-term vision? To build a full-stack operating system for restaurants, from supply procurement to inventory control and cost optimization.
Backed by Confident Investors
Investors believe Suplyd has nailed a pain point that’s often overlooked, serving the thousands of independent and small-chain restaurants that form the majority of the market.
“Suplyd is solving a deep-rooted problem for Egypt’s long tail of restaurants,” said Peter Orth, Partner at 4DX Ventures.
“Their traction and supplier relationships validate their model.”
Hasan Haider, Founder of Plus VC, added, “Suplyd is a core enabler in Egypt’s F&B digital transformation. Their operational excellence is unmatched.”
The Future of Restaurant Ops
Suplyd isn’t just digitizing procurement, it’s reengineering how kitchens run. From logistics to analytics, it’s building the infrastructure that will power the next generation of restaurant operations across Egypt and, eventually, the wider region.
