South Korea-based Rebellions, one of Asia’s fastest-growing AI chip companies, has secured $250 million in a Series C funding round, valuing the firm at $1.4 billion. The round strengthens its global leadership in energy-efficient AI chip design and deployment, particularly across Saudi Arabia and the broader MENA region.

The funding round included participation from Arm, Samsung Ventures, Pegatron VC, Korea Development Bank, Korelya Capital, and Lion X Ventures. The deal builds on the earlier investment from Wa’ed Ventures, the venture capital arm of Aramco, which had led a $15 million Series B extension in 2024. That investment marked Rebellions’ entry into Saudi Arabia’s growing AI infrastructure market.

Strengthening Saudi Presence

Following the Wa’ed Ventures partnership, Rebellions established its Saudi subsidiary in Riyadh and deployed its first-generation AI chips across key projects in the Kingdom. These deployments align with Saudi Arabia’s ambition to become a regional leader in AI infrastructure under Vision 2030.

The company’s ATOM™ and ATOM™-Max chips are already in mass production and actively powering AI workloads across Japan, Saudi Arabia, and the United States. They also support Korea’s largest commercial AI service.

Fueling the Next Generation of AI Infrastructure

Rebellions plans to use the new capital to scale mass production of REBEL-Quad, its second-generation chip, and accelerate its chiplet-based product roadmap. The REBEL-Quad is the world’s first UCIe-Advanced AI accelerator, designed to deliver peta-scale inference with unprecedented energy efficiency and scalability.

Key priorities following this round include:

  • Expanding AI chip deployments in Saudi Arabia and the wider MENA region.
  • Accelerating REBEL-Quad production for global AI data centers.
  • Building energy-efficient infrastructure for next-generation large AI models.
  • Growing Rebellions’ engineering and R&D teams across the U.S., Europe, and Asia-Pacific.

Strategic Partnerships

The addition of Arm as a strategic investor underscores a shared commitment to creating high-performance, energy-efficient AI infrastructure. Samsung Ventures and Pegatron VC further strengthen Rebellions’ ties across the semiconductor ecosystem, enabling synergies from chip design to system integration.

“This investment marks a turning point for Rebellions,” said Sungkyue Shin, CFO of Rebellions. “As AI workloads continue to surge, the world needs more efficient and scalable AI hardware. With the trust of our investors and partners, we aim to lead the next era of AI computing, supporting sovereign AI infrastructure across key global markets.”

Global Expansion Ahead

Beyond Saudi Arabia, Rebellions will expand its presence across the United States, Europe, and Asia-Pacific, with a focus on enabling governments and enterprises to build local AI infrastructure. By combining cutting-edge chip design with regional collaboration, the company aims to shape the foundation of the next-generation AI economy.
