Saudi Arabia’s digital transformation just gained new momentum. Riyadh-based OmniOps has signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MoU) with California’s Groq Inc., a global leader in AI semiconductors and inference acceleration. The partnership is set to strengthen the Kingdom’s AI infrastructure, supporting both public and private sectors in line with Vision 2030 and the National Strategy for Data and AI.

Driving AI Deployment at Scale

The collaboration focuses on delivering enterprise-grade inference-as-a-service that is secure, fast, and locally hosted. By combining Groq’s advanced inference acceleration with OmniOps’ sovereign AI expertise, the initiative aims to scale AI deployment across key industries such as:

  • Government – improving efficiency, services, and decision-making
  • Energy – optimizing production, sustainability, and predictive analytics
  • Aviation – strengthening safety, operations, and customer experience

Data Sovereignty & Regulatory Compliance

A central theme of the partnership is sovereignty. AI systems will be hosted within Saudi Arabia, ensuring compliance with strict data protection and cybersecurity frameworks. Deployments will be available via both on-premises solutions and sovereign cloud infrastructure, giving organizations flexibility without compromising compliance.

As Mohammed Altassan, CEO of OmniOps, explained:
“Together with Groq, we’re building a future where AI is powerful, sovereign, and secure, yet accessible to enterprises across Saudi Arabia.”

Groq’s VP & MD MENA, Fahad Alturief, added:
“Saudi Arabia is taking bold steps to become an AI leader. This partnership brings the Kingdom world-class inference capabilities to accelerate adoption and deliver real value.”

OmniOps’ Expanding Role in AI

OmniOps has been scaling rapidly:

  • $8M funding raised in late 2024 led by GMS Capital Ventures
  • MoUs signed with TAWAL, Lenovo, and Pure Storage at LEAP 2025
  • Launch of Bunyan in July 2025, Saudi’s first sovereign Inference-as-a-Service platform, enabling AI across text, vision, and speech applications

These developments highlight OmniOps’ role as a key player in shaping Saudi’s AI ecosystem.

The Bigger Picture: AI in Saudi Arabia

The Kingdom’s AI push is not just about technology, it’s about economic transformation.

  • Market Growth – AI revenues reached $4.46B in 2023, projected to hit $60.58B by 2030
  • Economic Impact – AI could add $135B to GDP by 2030, nearly 12.4% of the economy
  • Digital Economy – Valued at SAR 495B ($132B) in 2024, with AI and data center investments exceeding SAR 55B
  • Enterprise Adoption81% of Saudi companies have already implemented generative AI, according to PwC

Final Take

This partnership between OmniOps and Groq marks another milestone in Saudi Arabia’s journey to becoming a global AI hub. With sovereign infrastructure, secure deployment, and advanced inference capabilities, the Kingdom is moving closer to its Vision 2030 goal of leading the digital economy while ensuring sustainability, innovation, and data sovereignty.
