Pioneering AI Solutions for Chronic Disease Management

Qatar-based Lillia, an AI-driven healthtech startup, has secured a $1.7 million grant from the Qatar Research, Development, and Innovation (QRDI) Council. This funding will support the development of the first digital twin for chronic conditions in the GCC region. In addition, it will reinforce Lillia’s commitment to revolutionizing diabetes and chronic disease care.

Founded in 2020 by Sujit Chakrabarty, Lillia emerged from the 2024 merger of Qatar-based Droobi Health LLC and India-based Smit.fit. The company’s AI-powered platform is already transforming chronic care. It is doing so by providing hyper-personalized health solutions to individuals, healthcare providers, insurers, corporations, and public sector entities. With ambitious expansion plans, Lillia aims to scale its operations across MENA and Southeast Asia over the next two years.

AI-Powered Chronic Care – How Lillia Works

Lillia’s platform combines artificial intelligence with expert human coaching to create adaptive and personalized health programs. By integrating AI with the expertise of psychologists, nutritionists, and doctors, the platform helps users develop sustainable microhabits that improve long-term health outcomes.

According to Sujit Chakrabarty, Lillia’s founder and CEO, chronic conditions like diabetes affect over 500 million people worldwide. This is making them one of the biggest healthcare challenges today. “The good news is that, with the right interventions, diabetes can be prevented, reversed in its early stages, or effectively managed for long-term health,” he said.

Lillia’s AI-driven approach provides real-time insights, personalized recommendations, and predictive risk monitoring, helping users make informed lifestyle changes. This evidence-based method has already delivered long-term clinical outcomes for up to 80% of enrolled patients.

QRDI Council’s Support for Digital Health Innovation

Lillia’s latest $1.7 million grant from QRDI Council will enable the company to build the region’s first chronic care digital twin. In effect, it will be a cutting-edge AI tool designed to predict and prevent health complications.

Nada Al-Olaqi, Director of Innovation Development at QRDI Council, emphasized the importance of this partnership:

“We’re proud to support Lillia as they push the boundaries of healthcare innovation with AI-driven digital twin technology. Through our Technology Development Grant program, we empower pioneering companies like Lillia to bring transformative solutions to life, improving healthcare and enhancing quality of life in Qatar and beyond.”

Lillia showcased this vision at Web Summit Qatar, highlighting how AI-powered real-time risk monitoring and precision medication can redefine chronic disease management.

Backed by Leading Investors & Expanding Globally

With support from investors such as Qatar Development Bank, QSTP, and M Venture Partners, Lillia is rapidly scaling into a global leader in AI-led chronic disease management. The company has already impacted 40,000+ individuals in the GCC and India. It has done so through its 20 institutional partnerships with healthcare, corporate, insurance, and public sector clients.

Lillia is partnering with QLM Life and Medical Insurance, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, and Dr. Batra’s Healthcare. This will help it expand AI-driven healthcare solutions:
