Google is doubling down on its commitment to artificial intelligence in the Middle East, North Africa, and Turkiye (MENA-T) region. The tech giant has officially launched the second edition of its Google for Startups Accelerator: AI First, a 12-week, equity-free programme aimed at high-potential Seed to Series A startups building AI-powered solutions.

This initiative focuses on giving startups the right tools, mentorship, and cloud infrastructure. All these features help startups scale quickly and innovate boldly in today’s rapidly evolving AI landscape.

Why the MENA-T Region?

AI innovation is accelerating at lightning speed across the globe as of late. And the MENA-T region is emerging as a hotspot for AI-driven transformation.

According to PwC, AI is expected to contribute $15.7 trillion to the global economy by 2030, and $150 billion of that could come from GCC countries alone. Another PwC estimate highlights that the MENA region could gain $320 billion, about 2% of the global AI opportunity.

Meanwhile, AI-focused startup investments in the region have more than doubled from 2023 to 2024, according to different analysts. Clearly, the timing for this accelerator couldn’t be better.

What the Programme Offers

Selected startups will gain direct access to Google’s ecosystem of experts, infrastructure, and mentorship, with a sharp focus on AI and machine learning (ML). Here’s what they get:

  • Google Cloud credits to build and deploy AI products faster
  • One-on-one technical mentorship with Google Cloud engineers and solution architects
  • Hands-on AI/ML workshops covering data analytics, serverless computing, and more
  • Business strategy support—including Go-To-Market guidance, leadership training, and product design
  • Networking opportunities with top investors, partners, and industry leaders

According to Abdul Rahman Al Thehaiban, Managing Director at Google Cloud MENA-T:

“The incredible momentum of AI development in the region presents a unique opportunity. We’re committed to empowering startups with the scalable tools and infrastructure they need to lead the next wave of innovation.”

Echoing this sentiment, Anthony Nakache, Managing Director, Google MENA, said:

“We’re proud to support startups solving real-world problems with AI, and help them scale their impact globally.”

Who Can Apply?

If you’re a Seed to Series A startup in the MENA-T region and are building AI-first solutions, this programme is for you. Applications are open until June 16th, 2025, via the official Google for Startups website.

Don’t miss the deadline, spots are limited, and competition is expected to be fierce.
