Flat6Labs, one of the MENA region’s leading early-stage venture capital firms, has joined forces with Tamwilcom, a Moroccan public financing institution, to launch a brand-new accelerator program in Morocco. The initiative is designed to give a strong push to early-stage startups in high-potential sectors, including AgriTech, FinTech, GreenTech, AI, and digital health.

This exciting partnership comes on the heels of an agreement signed in December 2023 with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), aimed at transforming Morocco’s startup scene with structured funding and hands-on mentorship.

What’s the Program About?

Flat6Labs and Tamwilcom are teaming up to:

  • Support Moroccan startups in innovative and strategic sectors
  • Design and implement a hands-on accelerator program
  • Offer technical & financial mentorship to boost scalability
  • Prepare startups for investment rounds and market expansion

The goal is to provide startups with the right resources, from mentoring to funding, so they’re ready to grow both locally and globally.

“This partnership extends our institution’s efforts to support innovative Moroccan enterprises,” said Hicham Zanati Serghini, General Manager of Tamwilcom.

Why Morocco? Why Now?

Morocco’s entrepreneurial ecosystem is on the rise, and this accelerator program couldn’t come at a better time. The country is actively working to drive digital transformation and strengthen its private sector-led growth strategy. Startups are playing a central role in this shift, especially in sectors like:

Flat6Labs brings years of experience in startup acceleration, especially in the MENA region. They’re known for helping founders access the resources they need to scale, fundraise, and break into new markets.

“Flat6Labs’ proven track record will bring significant value to this initiative—especially in fundraising and business development,” added Serghini.

Backing from the IFC

The new accelerator program builds on a strategic agreement with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), signed in 2023. The IFC’s goal is to improve Morocco’s early-stage investment climate by:

  • ✔️ Strengthening access to startup funding
  • ✔️ Supporting innovation-led entrepreneurship
  • ✔️ Enhancing business readiness for investment

According to David Tinel, IFC’s Regional Director for the Maghreb, this collaboration is about empowering Moroccan entrepreneurs to thrive in a digital-first economy.

What’s Next?

This accelerator is a bold step forward for Morocco’s tech ecosystem. By combining Flat6Labs’ accelerator know-how with Tamwilcom’s local expertise and funding capabilities, the program is set to make a real impact.

Moroccan startups now have an even stronger support system to build, scale, and compete on the global stage. And for founders across the region, this partnership signals that Morocco is open for innovation.
