Moroccan startup DONE has secured a $2.1 million Seed round, marking a major milestone in the country’s digital transformation journey. The raise follows an earlier $600,000 founders’ round, giving the company the capital to finalize its technology platform, roll out operations nationwide, and prepare for future expansion.
The round was supported by a group of local investors and business angels, highlighting growing confidence in Morocco’s emerging tech ecosystem and its ability to compete on a regional scale.
A Super App Built for Morocco
DONE is positioning itself as Morocco’s first homegrown Super App. Its platform brings together multiple services in one unified mobile experience, including:
- Food delivery
- E-commerce and quick commerce
- Urban mobility solutions
- Digital financial services
The model draws inspiration from platforms like Grab, Gojek, and Careem but has Moroccan and African consumers in mind. The initiative also aligns with Morocco’s national digital transformation strategy, which aims to provide inclusive access to essential services and accelerate socioeconomic development by 2030.
How did DONE pull it off?
Funds from this Seed round have been channeled into scaling DONE’s infrastructure and launching in key markets. The company has already:
- Completed in-house development of its Super App (front-end and back-end).
- Built a scalable operational framework.
- Piloted operations in Rabat in May 2025.
- Expanded to eight major regions, including Casablanca, Marrakech, Agadir, Tangier, and Fes.
- Prepared the groundwork for future platform extensions, both digital and physical.
DONE now employs more than 90 staff members, supported by 500+ active delivery ambassadors and over 1,000 commercial partners. The app already lists major Moroccan and international brands, a sign of strong early adoption.
Local Roots, Scalable Ambitions
DONE’s rapid growth underscores its ability to merge technology, logistics, and local partnerships at scale.
“We promised to build a Moroccan tech platform at real scale, rooted in local realities. DONE is now live, operational, and moving fast. Consumers are digitizing rapidly, and we believe it is time for a homegrown Super App — scalable, competitive, and deeply connected to Moroccan needs,”
said Mohamed El Ghaissani, Co-founder & CEO of DONE.
The company is not just focusing on Morocco. With plans to expand into African and Arab markets, DONE is laying the foundation to become a regional category leader.
Morocco’s Market Advantage
Morocco is entering the digital economy at the right moment. Several trends are creating fertile ground for Super App adoption:
- Smartphone penetration above 80%.
- E-commerce growth exceeding 20% annually.
- A young, digitally native population.
The wider MENA and African Super App market looks to surpass $30.6 billion by 2030, growing at a CAGR of 28%. DONE is one of the first Moroccan startups to enter this race, giving it first-mover advantage.
Beyond Software: Building an Ecosystem
DONE’s strategy goes further than mobile applications. The company is investing in:
- Embedded financial services (wallet, buy-now-pay-later, digital payments).
- Expanded e-commerce and quick commerce features.
- Localized fulfillment infrastructure, including plans for a network of DONE Stores.
This combination aims to address both digital and physical consumer needs, ensuring the platform becomes a daily utility.
Backed by Smart Capital
The $2.1 million Seed round was fueled by local investors and business angels committed to Morocco’s innovation landscape. Their support will help DONE:
- Accelerate city rollouts and customer acquisition.
- Expand its product roadmap with new verticals.
- Scale its logistics and fulfillment backbone nationwide.
While no immediate fundraising was announced, DONE’s leadership is preparing for the next growth phase to strengthen its national position and scale regionally.
