UAE-based femtech startup Ovasave has raised $1.2 million in pre-seed funding, fueling its expansion into Saudi Arabia and the wider GCC region. Backed by Abu Dhabi’s Hub71, Ovasave is on a mission to transform fertility and hormonal health care for women through tech-enabled, proactive solutions.

Strategic Backing From Global and Regional Investors

The funding round was led by:

  • PlusVC
  • Annex Investments
  • New York-based 25 Madison

Additional support came from strategic angel investors and family offices in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. The raise highlights growing investor confidence in women’s health solutions across the Middle East.

A Comprehensive Digital Health Platform

Founded in 2023 by Majd Abu Zant and Torkia Mahloul, Ovasave offers an integrated, digital-first platform designed to support women through various life stages. Services include:

  • ✅ At-home hormone testing
  • Virtual consultations with fertility and hormone experts
  • Personalised supplement protocols
  • ✅ Support for egg freezing and fertility preservation
  • ✅ Corporate wellness integration for reproductive health

This model positions Ovasave as a pioneering femtech solution, combining medical science, digital convenience, and emotional support.

Scaling Across the GCC

With the newly raised capital, Ovasave plans to:

  • Launch operations in Saudi Arabia by summer
  • Expand across the broader MENA region over the next 3 years
  • Scale corporate partnerships for fertility benefits
  • ✅ Release the next version of its mobile app, offering:
    • Menstrual cycle tracking
    • Symptom monitoring
    • AI-driven treatment protocols
    • Menopause and perimenopause care

The expansion is well-timed, as Saudi Arabia and the UAE increasingly prioritize digital health innovation and gender-inclusive policies.

A Strong Ecosystem Advantage

Ovasave is registered with the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi and enjoys regulatory support through Hub71, aligning closely with the UAE’s digital health and women’s empowerment agendas.

Majd Abu Zant noted,

“Abu Dhabi’s ecosystem, driven by innovation, regulation, and capital, has given us the perfect launchpad to scale. From here, we’re expanding into Saudi and beyond.”

Torkia Mahloul, CEO, added,

“There’s a critical gap in timely women’s health support. We’re building a platform that makes fertility and hormone care accessible, personalised, and stigma-free.”

Driving Public Awareness

Beyond services, Ovasave also invests heavily in education and awareness:

  • ✅ Ran the “Fertility Your Way” campaign with Merck Gulf, offering free AMH tests to over 500 women
  • ✅ Collaborated with major employers like Aldar, BCG, and WeWork to integrate fertility awareness into workplace wellness
  • ✅ Organises expert panels and public events to normalise conversations around reproductive health

Final Thought

As the MENA region’s FemTech market grows, projected to reach $3.8 billion by 2031, startups like Ovasave are leading the shift from reactive to proactive women’s health. With strong investor backing and a regional expansion roadmap in place, Ovasave is not just building a business, it’s reshaping the conversation around fertility and hormonal care in the Middle East.
