Salus Cloud, a rising African DevOps startup, has raised $3.7 million in seed funding to expand its AI-native platform across Africa and the Middle East. The startup is tackling a crucial but often overlooked gap in emerging markets: the lack of secure, automated DevOps pipelines.
The round was led by Atlantica Ventures and P1 Ventures, with participation from notable investors like Idris Bello of Lofty Inc. Capital and Timothy Chen of Essence VC.
What problem is Salus Solving?
In many parts of the world, especially across Africa and underserved regions in MENA, tech startups struggle to implement secure CI/CD pipelines—a core part of modern software delivery.
Globally, less than one-third of enterprises have fully secure and automated CI/CD setups. In Africa, this number is even lower, with many startups operating without any robust DevOps processes.
Salus Cloud aims to close this infrastructure gap by offering:
- âś… AI-powered developer agents
- âś… Automated security patches
- âś… Enterprise-grade DevOps features
- âś… Pricing tailored for lean, high-growth teams
CEO and Co-Founder Andrew Mori puts it simply:
“We built Salus so a fintech can focus on loans, and an e-commerce platform can focus on logistics — not on securing Kubernetes or building core systems from scratch.”
What’s next for Salus?
With its new funding, Salus plans to:
- âś… Scale product development and build new features
- âś… Improve onboarding experiences for both individual developers and enterprise clients
- âś… Expand user adoption across Africa and the Middle East
- âś… Form strong partnerships with developer communities and tech hubs
The team sees massive potential in markets where cloud-native and DevOps tools are still in early adoption stages. By delivering tools specifically designed for these ecosystems, Salus positions itself as a key infrastructure enabler.
Why this Matters
The digital economy in Africa and MENA is growing fast, but the backend infrastructure often lags behind. Most startups in the region are forced to choose between building DevOps pipelines from scratch or adopting expensive tools designed for mature markets.
Salus offers a third path: affordable, secure, and smart DevOps tools built specifically for emerging markets. This empowers tech startups to scale faster, ship more reliably, and stay secure—without burning resources on infrastructure challenges.
Backed by Visionary Investors
The participation of top VC firms and angel investors reflects growing confidence in Africa’s developer ecosystem. Investors are now backing tools that empower builders and engineers on the ground to deliver world-class products.
