From PDFs to Cinematic Learning for Deskless Workers

India-based ByteEdge, an enterprise AI startup, has raised $1.5 million in a funding round led by Japan’s TRTL Ventures, with participation from a mix of global and Indian angel investors. The fresh capital will help the company scale its operations across India, the Middle East, and the United States, with a sharp focus on improving communication for deskless workers.

What is ByteEdge?

Founded in 2022 by Kamal Dutta and Akash Gupt, ByteEdge is on a mission to transform outdated corporate documents into engaging, short-form videos. Its AI-powered platform helps companies convert PDFs, Word files, and PowerPoints into cinematic, multilingual video content tailored for employees who don’t sit at desks—like those in retail, logistics, hospitality, and field services.

Key Features of ByteEdge

  • ✅ Converts static files into dynamic mobile-friendly videos
  • ✅ Supports multiple languages, including Arabic
  • ✅ Targets improved engagement and knowledge retention
  • ✅ Designed especially for the 70% of workers who are deskless

What’s Next for ByteEdge?

With this new round of funding, ByteEdge plans to:

  • Boost product development in India
  • Expand into the MENA region, especially Arabic-speaking countries
  • Enter the US market, where demand for workforce training tools is massive
  • Raise an additional $3M in upcoming months to fuel further growth

Akash Gupt, Co-founder of ByteEdge, explained:

“There’s a big opportunity in the Middle East—there’s currently no platform delivering this kind of knowledge in Arabic, especially in video format. The US also presents a huge market, and we’re excited to bring our solution there.”

Why This Matters

In today’s fast-paced industries, frontline workers are often left behind when it comes to training and communication. Traditional PDFs and slide decks don’t cut it anymore—especially for workers constantly on the move. ByteEdge is helping businesses bridge this gap with mobile-first video content that’s more accessible, understandable, and impactful.

Gupt added:

“Most organisational knowledge still lives in dry text formats. But when this content reaches deskless teams, it often goes unread or misunderstood. We’re changing that by making learning feel more like watching a movie—and less like reading a manual.”

The Big Picture

ByteEdge isn’t just building a product, it’s building a new way of learning for a global, deskless workforce. By localizing content, focusing on mobile-first design, and leveraging AI, it’s creating a smarter way for companies to connect with their teams—no matter where they are.
