In a huge win for MENA-born innovation, Moroccan founders Ahmed Achchak and team have secured $14 million for their Paris-based startup, Qevlar AI, marking a major leap in redefining the future of cybersecurity. The fresh $10 million round—led by EQT Ventures and Forgepoint Capital International—brings the total raised to date to $14M. Strategic angels like Olivier Pomel (CEO, Datadog), Florian Douetteau (CEO, Dataiku), and Mehdi Ghissassi (ex-Google DeepMind) also joined the round, believing in Qevlar’s bold mission.
Fixing Broken Security Operations
Let’s face it—cybersecurity teams around the world are overwhelmed. Security Operations Centers (SOCs) are bombarded with alerts, most of which are false positives. With a serious shortage of skilled analysts, 67% of alerts go unanswered. That’s where Qevlar AI steps in.
Qevlar’s Goal?
Turn reactive SOCs into proactive threat-hunting machines by handing off routine investigative work to agentic AI—a game-changing form of autonomous intelligence that doesn’t just recommend actions… it executes them.
What Makes Agentic AI So Powerful?
Unlike traditional AI co-pilots or dashboards, agentic AI operates like a hyper-efficient analyst that:
- âś… Investigates alerts
- âś… Gathers context and evidence
- âś… Makes decisions
- âś… Closes tickets
- âś… Loops in humans only when necessary
And it does all this in under 3 minutes, compared to the 30–60 minutes it would take a human.
“Our agents don’t suggest actions—they take them,” said CEO and co-founder Ahmed Achchak.
Real Results, Real Fast
Since launching in 2023, Qevlar has delivered jaw-dropping improvements:
- ✔️ Alert investigation time cut from 40 to 3 minutes
- ✔️ Analyst workloads down by 90%
- ✔️ 99.8% alert classification accuracy
- ✔️ 100% of non-threat alerts closed without human input
Qevlar’s platform is built on a custom knowledge graph and LLM stack, purpose-built for cybersecurity. That means traceability, auditability, and secure-by-design AI—not just a GenAI bolt-on.
Qevlar has Moroccan DNA, but Global Ambitions
Unlike many startups rushing to “add AI,” Qevlar is AI-native. Born from deep machine learning expertise, the team brings a unique perspective—starting with AI first, then applying it to real-world cyber challenges.
“We’re not here to build another co-pilot,” said Achchak. “We’re building agents that think, act, and deliver outcomes—at speed and at scale.”
With its roots in Morocco and a fast-growing team in Paris, Qevlar is now setting its sights on North America for expansion. The new funding will fuel team growth, R&D, and global outreach.
Qevlar is Backed by Visionaries
Forgepoint’s Damien Henault, now on Qevlar’s board, summed it up best:
“Qevlar’s autonomous AI is a game-changer for overloaded SOCs. It’s helping security teams focus on what really matters.”
Partners like Nomios and GlobalConnect are already seeing the benefits—cutting analysis times and increasing consistency across large-scale operations.
Catch Them at RSAC 2025
Qevlar AI will be showcasing its revolutionary platform at RSAC 2025 in San Francisco (April 28 – May 1) at booth ESE 16. If you’re attending, don’t miss your chance to see the future of SOCs in action.
From Casablanca roots to Parisian tech frontlines, Qevlar AI is proving that MENA-born innovation can lead on a global stage.
“We’re just getting started,” says Achchak. “The future of cybersecurity is autonomous—and we’re ready to lead it.”
