Catalyst, the trailblazing accelerator for sustainability and clean tech from UAE, made waves at the World Future Energy Summit 2025. The company announced three fresh investments, introduced the tenth cohort of its accelerator program, and unveiled strategic collaborations with BEEAH, Hub71, and Flat6Labs. These initiatives reinforce the UAE’s position as a hub for innovation and sustainability.

Three Startups Addressing Climate Challenges

Catalyst’s latest investments spotlight three dynamic startups—AED Energy, Batsand, and Solumar. Each is tackling critical environmental challenges through innovative solutions, from optimized energy storage to emissions capture and waste management.

These companies represent a growing movement to deploy cutting-edge technologies in the fight against climate change. The funding will help them refine their solutions and expand their impact.

Catalyst accelerator program expands beyond UAE across MENA

The newly launched Accelerator Program welcomes ten promising startups from the UAE and Egypt. Set to kick off in early 2025, the program is a collaboration with Flat6Labs, the MENA region’s leading early-stage venture capital firm.

Ahmed Baghoum, Chairman of Catalyst and CEO of Masdar City, emphasized the UAE’s thriving startup culture. “This ecosystem fosters local and global innovation. Through our partnerships and newest cohort, we’re supporting transformative climate tech solutions that will drive sustainable progress,” Baghoum said.

BEEAH Partnership – Building for the Future

Catalyst’s collaboration with BEEAH, a leader in sustainability and innovation, focuses on nurturing high-potential startups. Together, they will pilot cutting-edge projects and share insights across key industries like green mobility and waste management.

Khaled Al Huraimel, Group CEO & Vice Chairman of BEEAH, highlighted the shared vision: “Our partnership with Catalyst will shape a new generation of entrepreneurs. It aligns with BEEAH’s commitment to sustainability and innovations that empower humanity’s future.”

Hub71 Joins the Mission

Catalyst has also signed an agreement with Hub71, Abu Dhabi’s global tech ecosystem. This partnership grants startups access to Hub71’s extensive network of investors, mentors, and corporate partners.

The collaboration encourages startups to join the Hub71+ ClimateTech Program, which focuses on leveraging advanced technologies to achieve decarbonization and support a net-zero future.

Ahmad Ali Alwan, CEO of Hub71, stated, “Our mission is to empower startups to innovate for impact. Together with Catalyst, we’re advancing clean technologies and contributing to a more sustainable future.”

Flat6Labs – Fueling Growth

Catalyst’s partnership with Flat6Labs further enhances its support for startups. The accelerator program, launched alongside Masdar City and bp, provides entrepreneurs with tools and resources to scale their businesses effectively.

Yehia Houry, CPO of Flat6Labs, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration: “This program empowers MENA startups to tackle climate challenges, expand their reach, and contribute to a greener future.”

A Vision for a Sustainable Tomorrow

With its investments, programs, and partnerships, Catalyst is reshaping the region’s entrepreneurial landscape. By supporting groundbreaking technologies and fostering collaboration, it continues to drive meaningful change for a sustainable future.
