Paribu has completed Türkiye’s largest fintech transaction by acquiring CoinMENA in a deal valued at up to 240 million dollars. The acquisition marks a turning point for both the Turkish digital asset sector and the broader regional market. It also positions Paribu as a multi jurisdiction operator with a wider regulatory footprint across high adoption markets in the Middle East and North Africa.
A Major Step in Türkiye’s Digital Asset Evolution
The acquisition signals the country’s first cross border deal involving a digital asset platform. It also reflects the rapid consolidation taking place across global crypto markets as platforms seek scale, regulated access and new growth corridors.
Paribu aims to strengthen its presence by entering markets shaped by high digital asset activity. CoinMENA offers two regulated licenses that support this goal. These licenses come from Dubai’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority and the Central Bank of Bahrain. This structure gives Paribu stronger regional positioning and aligns with its strategy of compliance driven growth.
CoinMENA’s Role in Regional Crypto Growth
CoinMENA launched in 2021 and grew into the MENA region’s largest local crypto exchange. The platform now serves more than one point five million users across forty five countries. It offers more than fifty cryptocurrencies and supports multiple local currencies.
The company raised nearly twenty million dollars in funding from major global and regional investors. These include BECO, Arab Bank Switzerland, Circle and Bunat Ventures. Its strong user base and regulated presence made it a strategic partner for Paribu’s expansion plan.
CoinMENA built a platform that helps new and experienced investors access the digital economy. Its focus on simple onboarding and accessible trading tools helped drive broad regional adoption.
Strengthening Paribu’s Regional Roadmap
Paribu continues to invest in regulatory and product development. In 2024, it launched Paribu Custody, Türkiye’s first digital asset custody service powered by ColdShield security technology. In 2025, the Capital Markets Board authorized Paribu to establish its own brokerage firm. These steps built a strong foundation for regional expansion.
Key areas that Paribu continues to grow include:
- Compliance driven product development
- Advanced custody solutions
- Multi market operational oversight
- Technology powered security services
The acquisition now allows Paribu to scale these strengths across new markets with strong demand for regulated operators.
Leaders Comment on the Strategic Partnership
Yasin Oral, Founder and CEO of Paribu, said the deal represents a major milestone for Türkiye and the MENA region. He stated that Paribu now operates across a wider geography and plans to build new value for users in emerging digital economies.
CoinMENA’s founders, Talal Tabbaa and Dina Saman, said the partnership will accelerate innovation. They highlighted the value of combining CoinMENA’s regional expertise with Paribu’s technology. They also called the acquisition the most transformative moment in CoinMENA’s history.
The transaction sets the stage for a new phase of growth across Türkiye and the MENA region as both companies work to create a stronger, more connected digital asset ecosystem.
