UAE-based agritech startup Aydi has raised $7.5 million in seed funding to bring its AI-powered agronomy assistant, Orth, to market. The round was led by COTU Ventures, Daltex, and Nuwa Capital, with participation from Magrabi Agriculture and Foundation Ventures.

Founded in 2022 by Hassan Fayed, Aydi is building what it calls a “field operating system” for agriculture. By combining satellite monitoring, predictive analytics, and conversational AI, the platform helps growers make smarter decisions, detect problems earlier, and boost crop yields by over 20 percent.

The Challenge in Agriculture

Global food demand looks to rise 70 percent by 2050. Yet, most farmers lack access to expert advice. According to Aydi’s internal estimates, there is only one agronomist available for every 10,000 acres worldwide. This creates a significant gap between farmers’ needs and the availability of timely agronomic insights.

Orth is designed to close that gap by making advanced agricultural science accessible through AI. Farmers can now receive instant recommendations that were previously limited to large-scale operators with in-house expertise.

How Orth Works

Orth delivers precision insights by combining:

  • Satellite and weather monitoring to track field conditions
  • Predictive analytics across millions of data points
  • Conversational AI for instant, tailored advice

This intelligence engine enables farmers to optimize their operations at the plot level. The results are measurable: higher yields, more efficient use of inputs, and improved resilience to climate pressures.

Investor Confidence

Investors see Orth as a solution to one of the world’s most urgent challenges—feeding a growing population under climate and cost pressures.

  • Amir Farha, COTU Ventures: “Agriculture needs its AI moment, and Orth has the ability to empower millions of growers to farm smarter, profitably, and sustainably.”
  • Nitin Reen, Nuwa Capital: “Orth democratizes access to agronomic expertise that was once limited to large farms. This has the power to transform the industry.”
  • Ibrahim El Naggar, Daltex: “Understanding field context is one of agriculture’s hardest problems. Orth gives growers ownership of their data and sharper operational insights.”

Launch and Future Plans

Orth officially launches at Fruit Attraction in Madrid (September 30 – October 2), offering both free and paid tiers for individual farmers and businesses.

The new funding will help expand Orth globally, positioning it as a full AI operating system for agriculture. Aydi’s mission is clear: give every grower, regardless of scale, access to world-class agronomy and tools to thrive in a changing world.
