UAE-based CE-Ventures, the corporate venture capital arm of Crescent Enterprises, has joined a $100 million Series B round in Aalo Atomics, a US startup pioneering next-generation nuclear technology. The funding round was led by Valor Equity Partners, with participation from Hitachi Ventures, Fine Structure Ventures, Crosscut Ventures, and others.

Driving the Future of Energy

Founded in 2022, Aalo Atomics is developing mass-manufactured modular nuclear reactors to address one of the biggest challenges of the AI era: energy demand. With global electricity needs from AI-powered data centers expected to quadruple by 2030, nuclear energy is increasingly viewed as a clean, reliable, and scalable solution.

The Series B funding will support construction of Aalo’s first modular nuclear power plant, targeting zero-power criticality by July 2026. This milestone would mark a historic moment. It could easily become the first advanced nuclear plant in the US to achieve criticality in decades.

What Makes This Significant

  • Direct support for AI growth – Aalo plans to build an experimental data center next to its test plant. This is showcasing how nuclear energy can directly power AI infrastructure.
  • DOE endorsement – The US Department of Energy (DOE) selected Aalo for its Reactor Pilot Program launched in June 2025. This helped in fast-tracking advanced nuclear testing.
  • Lower commercial risk – The accelerated demonstration program aims to de-risk technology adoption and bring next-gen reactors to market faster.
  • Regional impact – CE-Ventures’ involvement underlines the UAE’s strategy to back frontier technologies. Specially those that align with its vision for innovation and clean energy.

Voices from the Deal

“We are at a pivotal moment for advanced nuclear technology, and we view Aalo Atomics as a true leader in this new atomic age,” said Sudarshan Pareek, Senior VP at CE-Ventures. “The surge in AI adoption is driving unprecedented energy demand, and nuclear power can meet this with clean, scalable solutions.”

Matt Loszak, CEO of Aalo Atomics, shared the company’s excitement:

“We now have the capital to build our first plant, the Aalo-X, which we’re aiming to turn on next summer. This is a once-in-a-generation chance to prove nuclear’s potential in powering the AI economy.”

CE-Ventures’ Strategy

CE-Ventures has built a diverse portfolio of early- and late-stage investments across technology, energy, and infrastructure. Its parent, Crescent Enterprises, is known for backing companies that deliver both commercial success and positive global impact.

By supporting Aalo Atomics, CE-Ventures reinforces its position as a global partner for frontier technology entrepreneurs. At the same time, contributing to the transition toward clean and reliable energy.
