Cybersecurity startup 1Kosmos has raised $57 million in Series B funding, a move that strengthens its mission to fight identity fraud with advanced authentication solutions. The round was led by Forgepoint Capital, with participation from Origami’s Oquirrh Ventures, Carahsoft’s Craig Abod, NextEra Energy Ventures, and Gula Tech Adventures. It also included a $10 million credit line from Bridge Bank.

This funding milestone highlights growing global demand for identity-first security as cyber threats evolve at alarming speed.

A Focus on Identity and Security

Since its inception, 1Kosmos has focused on enabling individuals to control their digital identity—making online interactions safer, more transparent, and fraud-resistant. The company provides enterprises with tools that move beyond passwords and legacy systems, instead offering:

  • Live biometrics – ensuring identity verification is authentic and tamper-proof
  • Verified digital identity – built on user-owned, privacy-preserving data
  • Passwordless authentication – eliminating phishing risks and account takeovers

As Ernie Bio, Managing Director at Forgepoint Capital, explained:

“The mission at 1Kosmos has always been to give people secure digital identities they control, ensuring safer access to services and preventing fraud.”

Meeting Today’s Cybersecurity Challenges

Identity theft and impersonation have become central to modern cyberattacks. Criminals often exploit weak credentials or stolen logins as the “first step in the kill chain.” 1Kosmos wants to break this cycle by embedding identity as the core of enterprise security.

CEO Hemen Vimadalal noted:

“Identity has become the first step in the kill chain. This investment allows us to strengthen the proactive controls organizations need to prevent impersonation-based attacks.”

Where the Funding Will Go

With this fresh injection of capital, 1Kosmos plans to:

  • Accelerate global expansion – opening offices in the Middle East, while scaling across North America, Europe, Africa, and Asia-Pacific
  • Advance product innovation – deepening integrations with IAM, CIAM, PAM, and zero trust security platforms
  • Scale direct and channel sales – reaching more enterprises worldwide
  • Strengthen research and development – ensuring solutions remain resilient against emerging threats

Who They Are

Based in the US, 1Kosmos specializes in remote identity verification and passwordless multi-factor authentication. The platform supports workers, customers, and even residents interacting with government services—protecting them from impersonation, account takeovers, and fraud.

By eliminating outdated credential-based security, 1Kosmos positions itself at the center of the next era of enterprise cybersecurity: one where identity is the new perimeter.

Final Thoughts

With $57 million in fresh funding and a clear focus on identity-first security, 1Kosmos is well placed to lead the charge against impersonation-based threats. Its expansion into the Middle East marks not just a geographical growth, but also a recognition that cyber resilience is now a global necessity.
